First impressions

On Sunday I gave the table a modest task: hold only the project I wanted to return to. The half-finished rabbit went into a tray with its yarn and needle. The books moved to a shelf within reach, where they could still interrupt me in useful ways.

Notes from the process

A studio does not have to look empty to feel calm. I left the scraps in a small bowl because their colours were helping me think. What mattered was knowing which things belonged to the present project and which could wait.

The next page

Before leaving, I wrote tomorrow’s first action on a card: check the ear placement. It was more inviting than a list of everything still unfinished. A good stopping point can be a small gift to the next working day.
