First impressions
I put the crochet project away after making the same adjustment three times. The next morning the solution was easier to see: the problem was in the joining angle, not in the piece I had been undoing. Distance had changed the scale of my attention.
Notes from the process
Rest is not a technique that guarantees better work. Sometimes the project still needs to be remade. But a pause can help me distinguish between an actual problem and the impatience that makes every detail feel urgent.
The next page
Now I leave a note with unfinished work. It says what I tried, what did not help, and what I might test next. That little record lets me stop without feeling that the whole project must be held in my head.
